Two engineering students lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Medipally on Tuesday night after a speeding car rammed into a metro pillar. The incident occurred under the limits of Medipally Police Station, shocking residents and raising fresh concerns over reckless driving in Hyderabad.

How the Accident Happened

According to police, the accident took place near Pillar No. 97 around midnight. A car carrying eight engineering students was traveling from Boduppal to IT Pocharam when the driver lost control due to over-speeding and crashed into the pillar.

Victims Identified

Police confirmed that two students died on the spot due to the severe impact.

  • Nikhil

  • Venkat
  • Rakesh
  • Yashwanth

Students safe:

  • Sathvik
  • Harshavardhan
  • Abhinav

All the students were engineering students from Wanaparthy district, police said.

Injured Shifted to Hospital

The injured students were immediately shifted to Shrikara Hospital by the police. Their condition is said to be serious but stable.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were sent to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police Begin Investigation

Police officials reached the spot soon after the accident, cleared the wreckage, and registered a case. An investigation is underway to determine whether negligence, alcohol consumption, or other factors played a role in the fatal crash.
