The former Chief Minister, however, has sought an adjournment, cited prior commitments, and requested the SIT to fix a new date for his appearance.

The SIT issued the notice on Thursday, asking KCR to be available for questioning by 3:00 PM on Friday in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged phone tapping during the previous government’s tenure.

Responding to the notice, KCR wrote a letter to the SIT officials stating that he would not be able to attend the hearing on Friday due to municipal election-related engagements. He assured the investigation team that he is ready to cooperate fully and will appear if summoned on another day.

According to sources, the SIT officials responded positively to KCR’s request for time. The team is now expected to decide the next date of hearing and issue a fresh notice accordingly.

KCR reportedly took legal advice at his Erravalli farmhouse regarding the SIT inquiry. Officials indicated that procedural aspects are being reviewed before finalising the next schedule for questioning.
