Phone Tapping Case: KCR Seeks Time After SIT Notice, Team Responds Positively

Phone tapping case update: KCR seeks time after SIT issues notice for questioning. New date to be decided as SIT responds positively to adjournment request.

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Telangana phone tapping case has issued a notice to K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), asking him to appear for questioning. The former Chief Minister, however, has sought an adjournment, cited prior commitments, and requested the SIT to fix a new date for his appearance.

SIT Notice Issued in Phone Tapping Case

The SIT issued the notice on Thursday, asking KCR to be available for questioning by 3:00 PM on Friday in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged phone tapping during the previous government’s tenure.

KCR Writes to SIT, Seeks Adjournment

Responding to the notice, KCR wrote a letter to the SIT officials stating that he would not be able to attend the hearing on Friday due to municipal election-related engagements. He assured the investigation team that he is ready to cooperate fully and will appear if summoned on another day.

SIT Responds Positively

According to sources, the SIT officials responded positively to KCR’s request for time. The team is now expected to decide the next date of hearing and issue a fresh notice accordingly.

KCR reportedly took legal advice at his Erravalli farmhouse regarding the SIT inquiry. Officials indicated that procedural aspects are being reviewed before finalising the next schedule for questioning.

Investigation Continues

The phone tapping case remains a major political and legal issue in Telangana, with the SIT continuing its probe. The next course of action will depend on the new date fixed for KCR’s appearance before the investigation team.

The development marks a key moment in the Hyderabad phone tapping investigation, as the SIT prepares to question the former Chief Minister at a later date.
