MNREGA Name Change Exposes BJP’s Anti-Gandhi Agenda: Faheem Quraishi, Chairman TMRIS
He alleged that even today, forces opposed to Gandhian ideology continue their hostility. Mr. Quraishi emphasised that the Congress Party has been fighting against communal and anti-Gandhi forces since then and will continue its struggle for peace, unity, and harmony in the country, even to the last drop of blood.
Hyderabad: Mr. Faheem Quraishi, Chairman of TMRIS, strongly criticised the BJP government for renaming the MNREGA scheme, stating that it is a clear and open reflection of the BJP’s hatred towards Mahatma Gandhi. He was addressing a satyagraha organised against the BJP government over MNREGA-related issues in the Karwan Division of the Karwan Assembly Constituency.
The protest was presided over by Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri, In-charge of the Karwan Assembly Constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Quraishi said that Mahatma Gandhi led the historic struggle against British colonial rule, freed the nation from slavery, united a country divided into several parts, and worked relentlessly to eliminate hatred between Hindus and Muslims. He stated that Gandhian principles of peace, unity, and harmony were opposed by communal forces, which ultimately led to his assassination.

Speaking on the occasion, Khairatabad District Congress President Shri Motha Rohit said that as per the instructions of the AICC and TPCC, MNREGA satyagrahas are being conducted at the mandal level across all districts. He asserted that the Congress Party will not tolerate the divisive and provocative politics of the BJP and will continue its fight against communal forces.
In his presidential address, Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri appealed to sincere Congress workers to unite and collectively fight against communal and anti-Gandhi forces, stating that unity against divisive elements is the need of the hour.
The MNREGA satyagraha programme was organised by Karwan Division In-charge Shri J. Ravinder.
The programme was attended by Shri Mitra Krishna, Shri C. H. Shankar, Karwan Division Mahila President Smt. Madhavi, Shobha Pandey, Chanti Babu, Parmanandam, Ziaguda Division In-charge Vinod Chowgle, Durga Prasad, Khairatabad District Vice President (IYC) Abdullah Bin Osman Al Hajri, IYC General Secretary Santosh Goud, Mohammad Inayat Ullah Shareef, Mohammed Bin Osman Al Hajri, Youth Congress leader Ali Bin Osman Al Hajri, Khaja Saifuddin Nawaz, Sai Kiran, Praneet, Osama Bin Osman Al Hajri, along with a large number of local residents and Congress Party workers.
