Faheem Qureshi Files Complaint with TSHRC Against Kaushik Reddy Over Remarks Against Karimnagar CP

Faheem Qureshi has filed a complaint with the Telangana State Human Rights Commission against Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy over alleged religious remarks targeting Karimnagar Police Commissioner Ghous Alam.

In a key development, Faheem Qureshi, Vice Chairman and President of the Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS), has filed a complaint with the Telangana State Human Rights Commission in Hyderabad.

The complaint pertains to alleged remarks made by Padi Kaushik Reddy, MLA from Huzurabad, against Ghous Alam, the Commissioner of Police, Karimnagar, allegedly referring to the officer’s religion.

Complaint Alleges Religious Targeting of Senior IPS Officer

According to the complaint filed by Faheem Qureshi, the MLA allegedly made objectionable remarks a few days ago, questioning the religion of the Karimnagar Police Commissioner and making claims related to religious conversion.

Faheem Qureshi stated that such comments were baseless and inappropriate, and that targeting a serving IPS officer on religious grounds undermines the dignity of the civil services and affects communal harmony in Telangana.

IAS and IPS Associations Express Concern

Following the controversy, the IAS and IPS Officers’ Associations reportedly expressed serious concern over the remarks and termed them unacceptable. They called upon the MLA to issue an unconditional apology, stating that civil servants should not be subjected to religious or communal allegations.

Social Media Exchange and Demand for Clarity

Faheem Qureshi also raised the issue on social media, seeking clarification from K. T. Rama Rao and the BRS leadership. While Kaushik Reddy later issued an apology, Faheem Qureshi stated that KTR did not respond to his query and instead blocked him on social media.

He questioned how a party that claims to follow secular values responds when concerns are raised over remarks made against a Muslim officer.

Leaders Accompany Faheem Qureshi

Faheem Qureshi visited the Human Rights Commission along with Khusro Pasha, Chairman of the Telangana Waqf Board, Osman Al Hajri, and other Congress leaders and workers.

They jointly filed the complaint and requested the Commission to examine the matter and take appropriate action as per law.

The development has sparked fresh debate in Telangana over secularism, accountability, and the protection of civil servants from religious targeting.
