Body Found in Canal Near ARP Camp
The body of a minor girl was found on January 30 in the D-46 canal near the ARP camp on the outskirts of Edapalli mandal. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and registered a case.
During investigation, the girl was identified as Prachi Kondamangale, a resident of Mukhede in Maharashtra.
Why the Father Allegedly Killed His Daughter
Police investigation revealed that the accused, a resident of Kerur village in Mukhede taluka, Maharashtra, runs a local salon and lives with his wife and three children. He allegedly wanted to contest the upcoming sarpanch election in his village.
In Maharashtra, candidates with three children are disqualified from contesting sarpanch elections. Fearing disqualification, the accused reportedly planned to eliminate one child to meet eligibility norms.
Key findings from the investigation:
- The accused had three children
- He wanted to contest the sarpanch election
- He believed he would be disqualified due to the three-child rule
- Attempts to change birth records reportedly failed
Crime Planned With Local Support
Police said the accused allegedly planned the crime along with the current sarpanch, Shinde Ganesh. Initial plans included showing one child as adopted, but the presence of an official birth certificate blocked that option.
Investigators stated that the final plan was to kill one child and spread the word that the child was missing.
Girl Taken on Bike, Pushed Into Canal
As part of the plan, the accused allegedly took his eldest daughter Prachi on a bike, claiming he was taking her back to the village. He then pushed her into the D-46 canal near Nizamsagar, killing her on the spot.
The accused reportedly chose Nizamabad district as the crime location to avoid suspicion.
Police Investigation Ongoing
Police have confirmed that the murder was committed by the father and further investigation is underway. More arrests are likely as the probe continues.
The case has triggered outrage, highlighting how election eligibility rules were allegedly misused in a deeply inhuman manner.
Public Shocked by Inhuman Crime
The incident has shocked residents in both Telangana and Maharashtra, raising serious concerns about the lengths some individuals may go for political power.
Authorities have assured strict action against all those involved in the crime.
