Pawan Kalyan Is an Anti-Telangana Leader, Says TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud

TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud calls Pawan Kalyan an anti-Telangana leader, predicts BJP zero in municipal elections, and accuses Centre of neglecting Telangana.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, branding him an “anti-Telangana leader.” He advised Pawan Kalyan to limit his politics to Andhra Pradesh instead of making comments on Telangana.

‘No One in Telangana Will Vote for JSP’

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Mahesh Kumar Goud alleged that Pawan Kalyan had spoken negatively about Telangana in the past. He said that no voter in Telangana would support the Jana Sena Party, even if Pawan Kalyan appealed for votes.

BJP Will Draw a Blank in Municipal Elections: TPCC Chief

The TPCC chief also predicted a zero result for the BJP in the upcoming municipal elections. He accused the party of repeatedly trying to polarise voters in the name of religion.

Referring to the Jubilee Hills by-election, he said the BJP, which attempted religious provocation, failed to even save its deposit, and is now trying similar tactics again in municipal polls.

Warning Over BJP President’s Visit

Mahesh Kumar Goud warned that the visit of BJP national president J P Nadda to Telangana was part of a strategy to provoke people. He urged Telangana citizens to remain cautious and said that Telangana’s culture of brotherhood and unity goes beyond religious divisions.

Centre Neglecting Telangana: Congress

The TPCC chief alleged that the BJP benefited politically after the Bhainsa riots and accused the Centre of repeatedly denying Telangana its rightful share.

He questioned:

  • What the BJP has given Telangana in the Union Budget despite 8 BJP MPs and 2 Union ministers
  • Why schemes promised under the State Reorganisation Act were not fulfilled

Unfulfilled Promises and Denied Projects

Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Centre failed to deliver on:

  • Bayyaram Steel Plant
  • National status for irrigation projects
  • Navodaya schools
  • Establishment of IIMs

He added that while Telangana is moving ahead with the Telangana Rising 2047 policy and attracting global investments, the Centre is not cooperating in industrial development.

Funds, GDP Share, and Federalism

Highlighting financial issues, the TPCC chief said:

  • Telangana contributes 5.01% to India’s GDP
  • The state should have received ₹3.76 lakh crore, but got only ₹1.84 lakh crore in the last five years
  • Telangana paid ₹4.32 lakh crore in GST, but received far less in return

He accused the Centre of favouring northern states in the budget and doing injustice to southern states, violating the spirit of federalism. He also alleged that taxes collected from Telangana are being diverted to Gujarat.

Budget Cuts for Women and BCs

Mahesh Kumar Goud criticised the Union Budget, alleging that:

  • ₹90,000 crore was cut from women-related schemes
  • Only ₹13,600 crore was allocated for BCs

Appeal to Voters

Appealing to voters ahead of the municipal elections, the TPCC chief urged people to vote thoughtfully, stating that the Congress is seeking votes in the name of development and welfare, not division.

Reiterating his stand, Mahesh Kumar Goud said Telangana will reject divisive politics, and expressed confidence that the Congress party will emerge stronger in the municipal elections.
