Will Property Tax or Tap Bills Increase in Telangana? Minister Sridhar Babu Gives Clear Answer

Will property tax or tap bills increase in Telangana? Minister Sridhar Babu clears the confusion and dismisses rumours, stating there is no proposal to hike property tax or water bills in the state.

The Telangana government has given clear relief to the public by ending rumours about a possible hike in property tax and tap (water) bills. State Minister Sridhar Babu announced that the government has no intention of increasing property tax or tap bills and urged people not to believe false propaganda being spread during the election period.

No Proposal to Increase Property Tax or Tap Bills

Addressing an election campaign meeting in Karimnagar municipality, Minister Sridhar Babu made it clear that the state government has not increased any taxes since coming to power.

He said, “There is no proposal with the government to increase property tax or tap bills. People should not fall for false propaganda.” He added that while the state government has avoided increasing taxes, the central government has increased several taxes.

Focus on Development Without Extra Tax Burden

The minister stated that the Telangana government is moving forward with development and welfare programmes without putting any additional burden on the public.

Key points highlighted during his speech:

  • No hike in property tax or tap bills
  • Development works without increasing taxes
  • Implementation of welfare schemes across Telangana
  • Commitment to financial stability and growth

Criticism of BJP and BRS

Sridhar Babu alleged that the BJP and BRS were responsible for economic damage in the state, pushing Telangana into debt. He said the present government is working to stabilise the economy and ensure balanced development.

Karimnagar Issues and White Paper Promise

The minister also criticised the Centre for not releasing funds for the Karimnagar dumping yard project, despite allocating funds to other states. He announced that after winning the Karimnagar Mayor’s post, the government would release a white paper on Karimnagar’s development.

Clear Message to the Public

Reiterating his stand, Minister Sridhar Babu once again assured the people of Telangana that there will be no increase in property tax or tap bills. He appealed to citizens to ignore rumours and trust the government’s commitment to development without tax hikes.
