Hyderabad Police Arrest Woman With 11.4 Kg Dry Ganja Worth ₹5.7 Lakh in SR Nagar

Hyderabad police arrested a woman in SR Nagar with 11.4 kg of dry ganja worth ₹5.7 lakh during a joint operation by the Commissioner’s Task Force and SR Nagar police.

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Commissioner’s Task Force Hyderabad, West Zone team, along with SR Nagar Police Station, arrested a woman drug peddler found in possession of 11.4 kilograms of dry ganja, valued at approximately ₹5.7 lakh.

Woman Nabbed With Dry Ganja in Hyderabad

The accused woman was taken into custody during a joint operation conducted by the Task Force sleuths and SR Nagar police. Officials said the seized ganja is a narcotic substance intended for illegal sale in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

Details of the Accused

The arrested woman has been identified as:

  • Name: Rinita Raita
  • Age: 30 years
  • Occupation: Farmer / Daily wage labourer
  • Residence: Kesariguda, Antaraba Post, Gajapati District, Odisha
  • Role: Sub-peddler

Seized Material Worth ₹5.7 Lakh

Police seized the following items from the accused:

  • Dry ganja: 11.4 kg
  • Mobile phone: 1
  • Total value of seized property: ₹5,70,000

How the Drug Network Operated

During interrogation, the accused revealed that she was facing severe financial hardship and struggling to support her family. She said her husband earns daily wages as a farmer, which was not sufficient to meet household needs.

She further disclosed that her cousin, Maniel Dalabehera from Odisha, was involved in ganja trafficking to Hyderabad and Rangareddy areas. Seeking income, she contacted him and was later brought to Hyderabad to assist in selling dry ganja.

Police Warn Against Drug Abuse

Hyderabad police issued a strong warning stating that drugs are a serious threat to society, destroying lives, careers, and families. Young people were urged to stay away from drugs and easy-money traps, which often lead to long-term damage and criminal records.

Police appealed to the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious drug-related activities to law enforcement agencies.
