Kavitha Targets AIMIM, Says Owaisi Brothers Always Side with Ruling Power
Former MLC Kavitha questions minority budget spending, criticises Owaisi brothers and Congress government, and highlights lack of development in Hyderabad’s Old City.

Hyderabad: Former MLC K Kavitha on Monday raised serious questions on the minority budget, the role of the Owaisi brothers, and the functioning of successive governments in Telangana. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, she said that minority welfare has remained only on paper, regardless of whether BRS or Congress is in power.

Kavitha said that people are now asking questions, as promises are being repeated but real development is not visible on the ground.
Minority Budget Not Fully Utilised: Kavitha
Kavitha stated that even during the BRS government, the minority budget was not fully spent, and after the Congress came to power, only announcements have increased, not actual spending.
- Minority Finance Corporation has become almost defunct
- Budget allocations exist, but implementation is weak
- Both governments followed the same approach, she alleged
“Those in Power Are Always Supported”: Kavitha on Owaisi Brothers
Targeting the Owaisi brothers, Kavitha said that they always stand with whoever is in power.
She pointed out that:
- Telangana state formation was earlier opposed
- After Telangana was formed, they shared power with the KCR government for 10 years
- Before the 2023 elections, strong allegations were made against Revanth Reddy
- After Congress came to power, the same leaders are now visiting the CM
Questions on Pending Dues Before Ramadan
Kavitha questioned Owaisi Brothers over pending payments to Imams and Muazzins.
She asked:
- If the Chief Minister listens to Owaisi Brothers, why are dues still unpaid before Ramadan?
- Why was the promise to increase salaries to Rs 12,000 not fulfilled even after two years?
- Why has there been no “Ramadan gift” or relief for the community?
Old City Still Lacks Basic Development
The former MLC also spoke strongly about the condition of Hyderabad’s Old City.
According to her:
- Dirty water issues continue
- Roads are in poor condition
- Schools and bus facilities are inadequate
She said that Owaisi Brothers was in support of BRS for 10 years and 2 years of Congress rule, if there is still no visible development, people have the right to ask questions.
Call for Action, Not Just Claims
Kavitha said that sharing power should also mean delivering results.
She demanded:
- Owaisi Brother Should ask Govt to Provide Free electricity for mosques and dargahs during Ramadan
- Special funds for cleanliness and sanitation
- Immediate action on minority welfare promises
She concluded by saying that Telangana people are watching closely, and just standing with those in power alone will not help unless real work is done.
