Hyderabad Drug Bust: Task Force Nabs Two With 70 Kg Dry Ganja Worth ₹35 Lakh

Hyderabad Task Force arrests two persons with 70 kg dry ganja worth ₹35 lakh in SR Nagar limits. Police intensify crackdown on drug peddling.

Hyderabad: In a major anti-drug operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, Hyderabad, along with SR Nagar Police, arrested two persons for possessing a huge quantity of dry ganja worth ₹35 lakh. The accused were caught with 70 kilograms of dry ganja and two mobile phones, police said.

The operation is part of intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking in Hyderabad.

Accused Arrested in Ganja Case

Police identified the arrested persons as:

  • Maniel Dalabhera (30)
    Farmer, native of Gajapati district, Odisha
    Role: Cultivator
  • Ismail Raita (48)
    Employee at an industrial unit in Medchal, Hyderabad
    Role: Peddler

Seized Material Worth ₹35 Lakh

During the operation, police seized:

  • 70 KGs of Dry Ganja
  • 02 Mobile Phones

Total value of seized material: ₹35,00,000

How the Ganja Network Operated

According to police, Maniel Dalabhera cultivated ganja on agricultural land in his native village in Odisha due to financial difficulties. Later, Ismail Raita, who had migrated to Hyderabad for work, agreed to sell the ganja locally.

  • Ganja was cultivated in Odisha
  • Supply was planned to Hyderabad
  • Buyers were contacted in Dhoolpet area
  • Repeated sales took place near Medchal
  • Dry ganja was transported and sold illegally

Based on credible information, the Task Force laid a trap and arrested both accused.

Police Appeal to Youth and Public

Police have strongly warned that drugs destroy lives, families, and careers. Youth are advised not to fall into the trap of easy money through drug peddling.

The public has been urged to:

  • Stay alert about drug-related activities
  • Report suspicious movements immediately
  • Inform police by dialing 100

Authorities stressed that public cooperation is vital to make Hyderabad a drug-free city.

Operation Conducted Under Senior Supervision

The arrests were carried out under the supervision of senior officers of the West Zone Task Force, along with officials and staff of SR Nagar Police.

The case highlights Hyderabad Police’s continued crackdown on narcotics and illegal drug networks operating in the city.
