In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Telangana Government Railway Police (GRP) exposed an interstate ganja smuggling racket at Secunderabad Railway Station. Police arrested two accused and seized 18.3 kilograms of ganja worth ₹9.14 lakh.

Accused Caught in Railway Waiting Hall
According to S. N. Javed, DSP, Telangana GRP, the accused were transporting ganja from Odisha to Secunderabad by the Konark Express.
They were detained in the general waiting hall of Secunderabad Railway Station while waiting to hand over the consignment.
Details of the Arrested Accused
The arrested persons were identified as:
- Abhishek Singh alias Golu Singh (25) – native of Uttar Pradesh
- Abhishek Kumar Singh (23) – native of West Bengal
Smuggling Deal Uncovered
During interrogation, police found that:
- The accused had an agreement with a main supplier from Odisha named Digal
- Each accused was promised ₹15,000 per trip
- The ganja was to be delivered to a contact identified by Digal in Secunderabad
Joint Operation by GRP and RPF
The operation was carried out jointly by:
- GRP personnel
- Railway Protection Force (RPF)
Police said strict surveillance and inspections helped crack the case.
