Youth Climbs Cell Tower After Election Cash Is Stolen

Hyderabad: A dramatic incident unfolded in Jogipet town of Sangareddy district, Telangana, where a young man climbed a mobile tower and threatened to end his life after money he allegedly received during a municipal election campaign went missing.
According to local sources, the youth, identified as M. Ashok from Jogipet, had reportedly been given Rs 4,000 by a councillor candidate during the ongoing municipal election campaign. Ashok had planned to purchase a new mobile phone with the money.
However, when he later discovered that the cash was missing from his pocket, he suspected that it had been stolen from his house. Distressed over the loss, he climbed a nearby cell tower and threatened to jump, creating panic among local residents.

On receiving information, Ashok’s wife Pochamma and other family members rushed to the spot and pleaded with him to come down safely. After his family assured him that the lost amount would be replaced, Ashok eventually climbed down from the tower.
The incident caused tension in the area for some time, but no injuries were reported. Local authorities are said to be looking into the circumstances surrounding the episode.
