The boys’ table tennis team from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) emerged champions at the Mahindra University Annual Sports Fest 2026, held at Mahindra University, Hyderabad, from February 9 to 15.

Hyderabad: The boys’ table tennis team from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) emerged champions at the Mahindra University Annual Sports Fest 2026, held at Mahindra University, Hyderabad, from February 9 to 15.
CBIT’s trio — Pratham Dev, Sachin, and Prathik — delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament, defeating strong contenders on their way to the title. The team proudly posed with their trophy after sealing the championship victory.
Quarterfinal
In the quarterfinals, CBIT defeated BITS by 3–1.
Pratham Dev edged past Eshan in a closely fought 3–2 match, while Sachin secured a convincing 3–0 win over Arman. The doubles pair of Prathik and Pratham went down 1–3 to Pream and Eshan. However, Pratham bounced back to beat Arman 3–1, ensuring CBIT’s progression to the semifinals.
Semifinal

CBIT overcame Methodist College 3–1 in the semifinals.
Prathik advanced via walkover (WO). Although Sachin suffered a defeat against Trishul, Pratham Dev and Sachin combined strongly in doubles to beat Trishul and Najeeb 3–2. Prathik again secured a walkover, confirming CBIT’s place in the final.
Final
In the championship clash, CBIT defeated host Mahindra University 3–1 to lift the trophy.
Sachin began with a 3–1 victory over Sadvik, followed by Pratham Dev’s thrilling 3–2 win against Rohit. The doubles pair of Pratham Dev and Prathik lost 1–3 to Rohit and Akshay. However, Pratham Dev sealed the title in style with a dominant 3–0 win over Sadvik.
With consistent performances and strong teamwork, CBIT emerged deserving champions of the Boys’ Table Tennis Team Championship at the prestigious annual sports fest.
