Hyderabad: A major fire accident was reported on Friday at the Nilgiri Block building near Maitrivanam in the city, triggering panic in the busy commercial area.

According to initial information, the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building, where an institute/company was functioning. Several students present inside the premises were reportedly trapped as flames spread and thick smoke engulfed the upper floors.

Upon receiving information, police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Firefighters used ladders and other safety equipment to evacuate those stranded on the upper floors. Efforts are underway to safely rescue a few more students who were reportedly stuck on the balcony.

The sudden blaze caused chaos in the surrounding area, with people running out of nearby offices and shops as smoke spread rapidly.
