Clash Erupts at Kakatiya University Hostel Over Chicken Curry, Several Students Injured

Hyderabad: A dispute over the distribution of chicken curry at a university hostel escalated into a violent clash between two groups of students at Kakatiya University in Telangana’s Warangal district.

The incident occurred at the common mess of the university hostel, where students from MBA, Economics, and MSc Computer Science streams had gathered for dinner.

According to reports, an argument broke out after some students alleged that unequal portions of chicken curry were being served.

Following the clash, tension prevailed at the New PG Hostel late into the night. Police personnel rushed to the campus upon receiving information and brought the situation under control.

Authorities have registered cases against five students at the Kakatiya University Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 118(1) and 351(2). Further investigation into the incident is underway.

The episode has raised concerns about discipline and conflict management within university hostels, prompting calls for stricter monitoring and preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
