Officials confirmed that the detection followed complaints lodged earlier this month regarding two separate two-wheeler thefts.

Case Details: Two-Wheeler Thefts

Case 1

A welding worker reported that his Honda Shine (TS15EV9042) was stolen after being parked outside a welding shop near Community Hall, Hakeempet.

Case 2

A labourer reported the theft of his Honda Shine (TS13ER8714), which went missing after being parked near Fatima Mosque in Brindavan Colony while he attended prayers.

Both complaints led to the registration of cases and further investigation.

Accused Apprehended During Vehicle Checking

During a routine vehicle checking drive in Paramount Colony, police noticed a suspicious individual attempting to flee. The suspect was chased and apprehended while riding a motorcycle.

He was identified as Mohammed Bashumiya (22), a resident of Vinayak Nagar, Film Nagar. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to stealing vehicles using a master key to earn easy money.

Stolen Vehicles Recovered

Police recovered five Honda Shine motorcycles linked to the accused, including vehicles related to the registered cases.

Recovered property includes:

  • TS15EV9042 – Related to Case 1
  • TS13ER8714 – Related to Case 2
  • TS08EG4801 – Owner yet to be identified
  • TS11EK7444 – Owner yet to be identified
  • TS09FN5470 – Owner yet to be identified

The total estimated value of the recovered property is around ₹5 lakh.

Investigation Continues

Authorities stated that further investigation is underway to identify the owners of the additional recovered vehicles and to verify the accused’s involvement in other theft cases.

The operation reflects the proactive policing approach adopted in the area to prevent property crimes.
