Hyderabad: The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a special protest campaign in support of families allegedly displaced under the Musi Riverfront Development Project in Hyderabad.
Led by state BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, the yatra titled “Musi Gosa – BJP Bharosa” (Pain of Musi – Assurance from BJP) commenced on Wednesday from Bapu Ghat at Langer Houz. The leaders began the programme by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue before proceeding to visit affected localities.
Ramchander Rao, along with Member of Parliament Vishweshwar Reddy and other party leaders, interacted with residents of Madhu Park Apartments and surrounding areas. The delegation gathered details about the hardships faced by families whose homes were demolished as part of the riverfront development initiative.
Addressing the media, BJP leaders strongly criticized the state government’s actions, alleging that houses were demolished in an “unscientific and insensitive manner” without ensuring proper rehabilitation or alternative arrangements for the displaced residents.

The Musi Riverfront Development Project aims to revamp the river and surrounding areas, but it has sparked controversy over displacement and compensation concerns.
