HYDRAA Action Against Encroachment in Neknampur

Officials said the protected land:

  • Measures 2,700 square yards
  • Estimated value is about ₹54 crore
  • Was originally earmarked for park and public amenities

The operation was carried out after complaints that attempts were being made to convert the land into plots.

Background of the Land Allocation

According to officials:

  • The government land falls under Survey No. 31 in Neknampur village
  • It was part of a layout planned for secretariat employees
  • Public utility space was reserved in the layout

However, some individuals allegedly tried to use approvals from another area to construct structures on the public land.

Illegal Constructions Removed

During the HYDRAA Neknampur operation, authorities:

  • Conducted a joint inspection with municipal and revenue officials
  • Removed foundations, pillars, and temporary sheds
  • Cleared encroachments on multiple plots

The action ensured the land remains available for community use.

Fencing and Public Notice Installed

To prevent future encroachments, HYDRAA:

  • Installed fencing around the entire 2,700 sq yards
  • Put up boards marking it as public space
  • Secured the area for residents’ benefit

Officials said strict monitoring will continue to protect government lands.
