Four illegal money lenders were arrested in the Amberpet triple suicide case after alleged harassment over ₹57 lakh loans led to the deaths of three family members in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: In a significant development in the Amberpet triple suicide case, police arrested four illegal money lenders for abetment to suicide after a family of three was found dead at their residence in Bapu Nagar.

The arrests were made following an investigation that revealed alleged financial harassment and threats linked to loan repayments.

Incident Details

According to police, the tragic incident came to light on February 24, 2026, when a complaint was filed by the daughter of the deceased family.

The victims were identified as:

  • Ramraj (54)
  • Madhavi
  • Shashank Raj

They were found dead at their home, with evidence indicating suicide. A case was registered and investigation began immediately.

Financial Harassment Over ₹57 Lakh Loans

Investigators found that the family had borrowed around ₹57 lakh for running “King’s Biryani” outlets at Mallapur and Chakripuram.

The probe revealed alleged harassment by illegal financiers, including:

  • Charging excessive and illegal interest
  • Forcing the family to sign blank cheques and promissory notes
  • Seizing property documents
  • Repeated threats and humiliation

Call records reportedly confirmed that the accused contacted the family on the night before the incident demanding repayment.

Arrest of Four Accused

On March 2, police arrested four accused allegedly involved in the harassment:

  • Mohd. Wasi Uz Zaman @ Irfan (57)
  • P. Rajasekhara Reddy (55)
  • Mohd. Nawaz (50)
  • Syed Majeed Hyder (53)

During interrogation, they allegedly admitted to lending money at high interest rates and pressuring the family for repayment.

Key Evidence Seized

Police seized several items during the operation, including:

  • Blank cheques
  • Promissory notes and MOUs
  • Mortgage and loan agreements
  • Original land documents
  • Mobile phones used for communication

These materials are believed to be crucial evidence in the case.

Investigation Continues

All four accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody, while further investigation is underway to examine additional links and evidence.
