Student Clashes During Holi at Telangana University South Campus; 7 Suspended

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the South Campus of Telangana University in Bhiknoor area of Kamareddy district after a clash broke out between two groups of students during Holi celebrations.
According to Hostel Warden Yelladri, the incident occurred when a group of senior students allegedly attacked junior students during the celebrations. In the altercation, a junior student sustained serious head injuries.
Following the incident, the agitated junior students staged a protest on the road demanding action against those responsible. Police and university authorities rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control after pacifying the students.
The injured student was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, students led by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest in front of the Principal’s chamber, demanding strict action against those involved in the attack.
Based on preliminary findings and a report submitted by an inquiry committee comprising members of the teaching staff, the university administration has suspended seven senior students from the hostel for their alleged involvement in the incident.
Principal Sudhakar stated that the suspension of the students will remain in effect until the completion of the disciplinary proceedings and further action may follow depending on the outcome of the investigation.
