Kishan Reddy Urges CM Revanth Reddy to Resolve Land Acquisition Delay for Amberpet Service Road on NH-163

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy urges CM Revanth Reddy to resolve land acquisition delays and complete the Amberpet service road at NH-163 in Hyderabad to ease traffic congestion.

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to resolve land acquisition hurdles delaying the Amberpet service road at Amberpet Crossroads on NH-163 in Hyderabad. The minister requested the state government to intervene and ensure early completion of the service road beneath the Amberpet flyover, which is crucial for easing traffic congestion in the area.

The Amberpet service road on NH-163 in Hyderabad, which remains incomplete despite the flyover being operational, has caused inconvenience to thousands of commuters using the busy corridor every day.

Kishan Reddy Calls for Action on Amberpet Service Road

In communication addressed to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy highlighted the urgent need to clear pending land acquisition issues that are delaying the construction of the Amberpet service road at NH-163.

According to the minister:

  • A 1.5-kilometre four-lane flyover at Amberpet Cross Roads has already been completed
  • The flyover was constructed at a cost of ₹265 crore
  • It was inaugurated on May 5, 2025
  • However, the service road beneath the flyover remains incomplete

The incomplete service road continues to create traffic bottlenecks and inconvenience for daily commuters.

Land Acquisition Delay Behind the Problem

The main reason for the delay in completing the Amberpet service road on NH-163 is the pending land acquisition process.

Officials have already paid ₹2.54 crore as compensation for land acquisition, but certain procedural issues have slowed the process further.

Because of these bottlenecks, the service road under the Amberpet flyover has not yet been completed, despite the main flyover already being in use.

Issue Raised Multiple Times

Union Minister Kishan Reddy stated that the Amberpet service road issue has been raised several times with state authorities.

He mentioned that the matter had earlier been discussed with:

  • Former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao
  • Current Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy
  • Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari

He also said he had personally taken up the matter with GHMC officials and the GHMC Commissioner, but the problem remains unresolved.

Call for Immediate Government Intervention

Kishan Reddy has now urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to direct GHMC and Roads & Buildings department officials to resolve the land acquisition issues.

He stressed that completing the Amberpet service road along NH-163 in Hyderabad will significantly improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at one of the city’s busiest junctions.

The Amberpet flyover project was originally sanctioned in 2018, and commuters are expecting the remaining service road work to be completed soon so that the corridor functions efficiently.

With thousands of vehicles using Amberpet Cross Roads on NH-163 every day, the early completion of the Amberpet service road in Hyderabad is seen as essential for improving urban mobility in the area.
