CM Revanth Reddy launches “Stand With Her” campaign at JNTU Hyderabad, urging men to become brand ambassadors for women’s safety and fight harassment.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched the “Stand with Her” women’s safety campaign at JNTU Kukatpally in Hyderabad, calling on men to act as brand ambassadors for women’s safety in society. The programme was organized by the Telangana Policewomen Safety Wing to promote awareness and collective responsibility for protecting women.

The event was attended by several dignitaries including DGP Jitender (Shivdhar Reddy mentioned in note), Hyderabad CP CV Anand/Sajja Sajjannar (as per context), film actor Sai Dharam Tej, senior police officials, and students.
Men Must Stand Up for Women’s Safety
Addressing the gathering, CM Revanth Reddy urged men to actively support and protect women in society.
He said that remaining silent when women face harassment also encourages crime. The Chief Minister advised youth to develop the courage to question and stop harassment whenever they witness it.
“If someone troubles a girl, we should stand up and question them. Just like we would react if it happened to someone in our own family,” the Chief Minister said.
“Stand With Her” Campaign Launched at JNTU Hyderabad
The Stand With Her campaign was officially launched at the JNTU campus auditorium in Kukatpally. During the programme, the Chief Minister unveiled the campaign brochure.
The initiative aims to:
- Promote women’s safety and respect in society
- Encourage men to take responsibility in protecting women
- Spread awareness against harassment and violence
- Strengthen social support systems for women
The Chief Minister appreciated the Telangana Police Women Safety Wing for launching the initiative.
Focus on Women’s Safety and Economic Empowerment
CM Revanth Reddy also spoke about the Telangana government’s efforts to improve women’s safety and economic independence.
He said the government is implementing several schemes to empower women, including:
- Indiramma housing schemes in women’s names
- Interest-free loans for women
- Making women owners of solar power units and RTC buses
- Supporting rural women entrepreneurs
He also highlighted that the state government has partnered with companies like Amazon to help rural women sell their products globally.
Women’s Empowerment Key to Telangana’s Growth
The Chief Minister said women’s empowerment is essential for Telangana’s future growth and achieving the Telangana Rising 2047 vision.
According to him, the state’s goal of becoming a $3 trillion economy can only be achieved when women are economically strong and socially secure.
Cyber Crimes Against Women Increasing
The Chief Minister also warned about the growing threat of online crimes against women, including deepfake videos and cyber harassment.
He said the Telangana government has strengthened the cyber crime department to tackle such offences.
“Stop Blaming Women”: CM’s Strong Message
CM Revanth Reddy said society must stop the tradition of blaming women whenever incidents occur.
He urged citizens to support women facing harassment and stand with them.
“Instead of blaming women, society should stand with them. That is the spirit behind the ‘Stand With Her’ campaign,” he said.
The event was attended by CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Telangana DGP, Women Safety Wing Additional DGP Charu Sinha, actor Sai Dharam Tej, senior police officials and students.
