United Arab Emirates Arrest of 10 Suspects Over Misleading Videos of Air Defence Systems
Authorities said the videos were circulated on social media and digital platforms with the intention of misleading public opinion and spreading fear and anxiety among members of society.

Abu Dhabi: The Attorney-General of the United Arab Emirates has ordered the arrest of 10 suspects and directed that they be referred to an urgent trial after they allegedly published misleading video clips on digital platforms.
According to the state news agency Emirates News Agency (WAM), the suspects shared videos containing real footage of air defence systems intercepting attacks and their aftermath, along with other fabricated and manipulated clips.
Authorities said the videos were circulated on social media and digital platforms with the intention of misleading public opinion and spreading fear and anxiety among members of society.
The Attorney-General’s office stated that such actions constitute criminal offences under the country’s laws, particularly those related to spreading false information and disturbing public order.
Officials warned that individuals found guilty of such offences may face imprisonment for not less than one year and a fine of no less than 100,000 UAE dirhams, or both penalties.
Authorities also urged residents and social media users to avoid sharing unverified or misleading content, stressing the importance of relying on official sources for accurate information. The government reaffirmed that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to spread false information that could threaten public safety or social stability.
