Hyderabad: The Telangana government has released ₹28.50 crore for Indiramma Houses beneficiaries, bringing major relief to families who are constructing homes under the state housing scheme.

According to official information, the funds have been directly deposited into the bank accounts of 2,764 beneficiaries whose houses have been sanctioned and are currently under construction.

The release of funds is expected to speed up the construction of Indiramma Houses across Telangana, as beneficiaries had been waiting for the payment of pending bills.

Direct Transfer of Funds to Beneficiaries

Officials confirmed that the pending bills under the Indiramma Housing Scheme have now been cleared, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their payments without delay.

Authorities said clearing these dues will help accelerate the construction of homes under the Indiramma housing scheme.

Funds Released Under Various Pending Categories

In addition to the ₹28.50 crore released to 2,764 beneficiaries, the government also cleared several pending payments:

  • ₹12.06 crore released to 1,200 beneficiaries in the L-3 list
  • ₹7 crore released to 653 beneficiaries with bank-related pending issues
  • ₹9.40 crore approved for 911 beneficiaries after resolving objections

Officials are also conducting a special drive to resolve technical issues that prevented some beneficiaries from receiving their payments earlier.

Financial Assistance of ₹5 Lakh for Each House

Under the Indiramma Housing Scheme, the Telangana government provides financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to eligible beneficiaries to build their homes.

The assistance is credited to beneficiaries’ accounts in four instalments, ensuring that funds are available at different stages of construction.

This scheme aims to provide affordable housing for low-income families across the state.

Second Tranche of Houses Expected in April

The Telangana government has already sanctioned around 4 lakh houses in the first phase of the Indiramma housing programme.

In addition:

  • 3,500 houses were sanctioned for each Assembly constituency in the first phase
  • The second tranche list of houses is expected to be announced in April

Officials say the upcoming phase will further expand the scheme and benefit thousands of additional families who are waiting for housing assistance.
