The Telangana Women’s Throwball Team delivered an impressive performance by securing the Silver Medal at the 34th Federation Cup Throwball Championship 2026, held on March 14 and 15 at Sri Vatsala Gurukul Vidyalaya in Tirupati.
Telangana showcased strong form during the league stage matches, registering convincing victories against several teams. The team defeated Delhi with scores of 15–04 and 15–13, followed by a dominant win over Kerala with 15–10 and 15–04 points. Telangana continued its winning momentum by overcoming Tamil Nadu with 15–11 and 15–12 points. However, in a closely contested match, Telangana narrowly lost to West Bengal with scores of 15–11, 14–16, and 13–15.
In the semi-final match, Telangana bounced back strongly and defeated Karnataka with scores of 15–13 and 15–12, securing their place in the final.
In the championship final, Telangana faced Andhra Pradesh but fell short, losing the match with scores of 09–15 and 13–15, ultimately finishing the tournament as Silver Medalists.
The Federation Cup features the top eight teams that qualify from the Senior National Championship, making the tournament highly competitive.
The Telangana team was led by Captain B. Harika, while Deepti and Vaishnavi emerged as the top performers during the tournament.
The team was guided by coaches Siddeshwar Reddy, Pradeep Reddy, and Shiva Kumar Yadav, who congratulated the players for their remarkable performance and dedication throughout the championship.
