POCSO Case: Auto Driver Sentenced to 20 Years Rigorous Imprisonment by LB Nagar Fast Track Court

In a major development in a POCSO case registered at Pahadishareef Police Station, the Fast Track Special Court at LB Nagar in Ranga Reddy District has sentenced an accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for committing aggravated sexual assault on a minor girl.

The Pahadishareef POCSO case conviction relates to Sessions Case No. 209/2024 arising from Crime No. 16/2024, where the accused was charged under Sections 376(2)(f)(n), 448, 427, 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 5(l)(m)(n) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act.

Accused Sentenced in Pahadishareef POCSO Case

The Fast Track Special Court for Expeditious Trial and Disposal of Rape and POCSO Cases at LB Nagar found the accused Methre Ajay (26) guilty in the case.

The convicted person is an auto driver and resident of Jalpally Village in Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District.

Court verdict and punishment

The court awarded the following punishment:

  • 20 years of rigorous imprisonment
  • Fine of ₹42,000
  • Victim compensation of ₹5,00,000

The court noted that the accused committed aggravated penetrative sexual assault on a minor girl who was under his care, which attracts stringent provisions under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The investigation was conducted by:
