GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan Conducts Surprise Inspection in Goshamahal and Karwan Circles

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan conducts surprise inspections in Goshamahal and Karwan circles under Praja Palana programme, reviewing roads, sanitation and Indiramma canteen facilities.

Hyderabad, March 16: As part of the Telangana government’s 99-day programme “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika”, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan conducted surprise early-morning inspections in Goshamahal and Karwan circles in Hyderabad on Monday. The visit focused on reviewing junction development works, sanitation conditions, road maintenance, and public facilities in the area.

During the surprise inspection in Goshamahal and Karwan circles, the GHMC Commissioner interacted with officials and inspected key civic infrastructure projects aimed at improving public services.

Inspection at Bhagat Singh Junction Development Works

During the visit, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the ongoing junction development works at Bhagat Singh Junction in the Goshamahal area.

He also reviewed the functioning of the Indiramma Canteen located near the junction, which provides affordable meals to the public.

Key directions issued during the inspection:

  • Immediate road patchwork around Bhagat Singh Junction
  • Improved traffic movement and road conditions
  • Proper maintenance of public facilities near the junction

The commissioner emphasized the need to ensure smooth commuting conditions for residents and daily commuters in Goshamahal.

Review of Public Toilets Under PPP Model

The GHMC Commissioner also inspected public toilets maintained under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

During the inspection, he interacted with the caretaker and verified the attendance of sanitation staff responsible for maintaining the facilities.

Officials were directed to ensure that:

  • Public toilets remain clean and hygienic at all times
  • Sanitation staff maintain regular attendance
  • Maintenance standards are strictly followed

Walk-through Inspection of Roads and Garbage Vulnerable Points

Later, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan conducted a walk-through inspection of nearby roads and Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) in the area.

He was accompanied by:

  • Zonal Commissioner (Golconda) Mukunda Reddy
  • Assistant Commissioner (Sanitation) Ravi Kiran
  • Engineering and sanitation officials
  • Representatives from Ramky

The team reviewed garbage collection systems and sanitation management to ensure better cleanliness in the Goshamahal and Karwan circles.

Encroachments to Be Cleared Near Ambedkar Community Hall

During the inspection, the commissioner instructed officials to remove encroachments near the Ambedkar Community Hall.

He also directed authorities to prepare the facility for inauguration during Ugadi, the Telugu New Year festival.

Inspection at 100-Feet Road in Jiyaguda

As part of the inspection drive, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan visited the 100-feet road in Jiyaguda, where he reviewed sanitation activities and road maintenance works.

Officials were instructed to speed up development activities and improve civic infrastructure in the area.

Several GHMC officials including zonal commissioner, engineers, and sanitation staff from Karwan circle were present during the inspection.

The surprise inspection conducted by GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan in Goshamahal and Karwan circles under the Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika programme aims to strengthen civic services and improve urban infrastructure in Hyderabad.
