MJCET Hosts Grand Alumni Meet “Nostalgia 2K26”

The event began with an address by Amer Javed, Joint Secretary of the Sultan-ul-Uloom Education Society (SUES), who traced the institution’s journey from its establishment in 1980 to its current standing as a reputed centre of academic excellence. He highlighted the vision of the founders, particularly Amjad Ali Khan, in shaping the institution.
Javed also shared his interaction with MJCET alumni during a visit to the United States alongside Rahul Gandhi, noting that alumni working in leading global organisations expressed gratitude towards the institution and its leadership. He suggested holding alumni meets annually in December to ensure wider participation, especially from international alumni.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Hamraj, Dean (Academics), spoke about the college’s academic and extracurricular achievements, including active student chapters such as Engineers Without Borders (EWB), SAE BAJA, and IEEE, as well as its focus on research, innovation, and faculty development.

Principal S. Srinivasa Rao emphasised the crucial role of alumni in strengthening the institution’s reputation and supporting students through internships, placements, and industry exposure. Prof. Mahipal Singh Rawat, Advisor-cum-Director, also urged alumni to contribute towards enhancing the college’s academic and research ecosystem.
Chairman of MJCET and Honorary Secretary of SUES, Zafer Javed, outlined his vision for the institution’s future, stressing the need to adopt emerging technologies and expand advanced programmes such as Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, in line with premier institutes.
Mohammed Waliullah, Chairman of SUES, congratulated alumni for their participation and encouraged them to maintain strong ties with their alma mater.
During the event, alumni were honoured with special “Nostalgia 2K26” mementos in recognition of their professional achievements. Many shared their experiences and appreciated the mentorship they received during their time at MJCET.
The programme, held at the Ghulam Ahmed Auditorium, also featured a networking lunch and cultural performances, including a Qawwali, creating a vibrant and nostalgic atmosphere.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gitashree Mukherji, who expressed gratitude to all participants and organisers. “Nostalgia 2K26” served as a meaningful platform for reconnecting alumni and strengthening their bond with the institution.
