The raid was conducted near Nagarjuna X Road, Banjara Hills, where the accused were found illegally dumping and selling HP gas cylinders to customers.

How the Illegal Gas Cylinder Racket Operated

According to officials, the accused were involved in:

  • Illegal storage of gas cylinders at a graveyard location
  • Selling LPG cylinders at higher-than-market prices
  • Violating safety rules and government regulations

The main accused was reportedly operating a gas agency and using it to divert cylinders for illegal sale.

During the raid, authorities seized a large quantity of gas cylinders and vehicles used in the operation:

Gas Cylinders Seized

  • 47 KG cylinders (full): 30 units
  • 19 KG cylinders (full): 148 units
  • 19 KG cylinders (empty): 192 units
  • 5 KG cylinders (full): 35 units
  • 5 KG cylinders (empty): 9 units

Vehicles Seized

  • Multiple DCM, Bolero, Tata Ace, Tata Intra, Piaggio Autos, and Tata Magic vehicles
  • Vehicles were used for transporting and distributing cylinders illegally

Accused Persons Apprehended

A total of 10 individuals involved in the illegal activity were arrested, including:

  • Gas supplier and agency operator
  • Delivery personnel
  • Drivers and labourers

All accused were operating from areas in Banjara Hills and surrounding localities.

Police Action and Investigation

The operation was carried out by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone Team, along with Banjara Hills Police.
