During the raid, authorities seized around 7 tonnes of mangoes stored in the godown.

Officials said the operation was carried out based on specific information about chemical usage.

According to H-FAST CI Ranjith, the mangoes were being:

  • Artificially ripened using ethylene chemical
  • Stored in large quantities for market supply
  • Prepared for distribution across Hyderabad markets

The use of chemicals for ripening raises serious concerns about public health and food safety.

7 Tonnes of Mangoes Seized

During the Hyderabad Asif Nagar mango raid:

  • Around 7 tonnes of mangoes were identified
  • Approximately 350 trays were found in the warehouse
  • Each tray contained nearly 20 kilograms of fruit

Officials found that:

  • Mangoes were purchased from Batasingaram market
  • Stored in the Asif Nagar warehouse
  • Supplied to markets for sale after artificial ripening

Case Registered, Warehouse Seized

  • A case has been registered against Jameel and Fareed, the warehouse operators
  • The warehouse has been sealed
  • Further investigation is underway
