Hyderabad: In a major boost to public transport, the Hyderabad new mega bus terminal at Gajularamaram is being planned by TGSRTC, aiming to reduce congestion and improve connectivity across the city.

The proposed Hyderabad mega bus terminal project will be developed on 100 acres in Jeedimetla’s Gajularamaram area, making it one of the largest transport hubs in the region.

Hyderabad Mega Bus Terminal Project Details

The new terminal is being designed on the lines of existing major hubs like Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and Jubilee Bus Station (JBS).

Key features:

  • Total land: 100 acres
  • Inter-state bus terminal: 30 acres
  • City bus terminal: 20 acres
  • Electric bus zone: 10 acres
  • EV charging station: 15 acres

The project will include state-of-the-art facilities, modern infrastructure, and commercial spaces such as shops.

Separate Facilities for Buses

The Hyderabad Gajularamaram bus terminal will have dedicated sections to manage traffic efficiently.

Planned facilities:

  • Separate terminal for inter-state buses
  • Dedicated terminal for city buses
  • Special zone for electric buses with charging stations

This structure will ensure smoother operations and better passenger experience.

  • Land officially handed over to TGSRTC
  • Project planning and development expected to begin soon

Traffic Congestion Relief in Hyderabad

The new terminal is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in key areas.

Current issues:

  • Buses halt on roads in Kukatpally, Gajularamaram, Patancheru, and BHEL
  • Inter-state buses from Maharashtra and Karnataka create road congestion
  • Night parking of buses adds to traffic pressure

Expected benefits:

  • Reduced load on MGBS and JBS
  • Better traffic flow in city outskirts
  • Organized bus movement and parking

Additional RTC Infrastructure Plans

Along with the Hyderabad mega bus terminal, RTC is also planning further expansion.

Upcoming developments:

  • 10 new bus depots across Hyderabad
  • Dedicated electric bus depot on 10 acres
  • Multi-level parking facility for commuters

These steps aim to modernize public transport and support future mobility needs.

The Hyderabad new mega bus terminal at Gajularamaram, planned by TGSRTC on 100 acres, is set to transform city transport and reduce congestion. With advanced facilities and dedicated zones for inter-state, city, and electric buses, the project promises a smoother and more efficient travel experience for Hyderabad residents.
