PNG Price Hike After LPG: IGL Increases Gas Rates

After LPG, PNG gas also becomes expensive as IGL increases prices in Delhi, NCR, and other cities. Check new rates and impact on households.

After LPG, PNG gas has also become expensive, adding more pressure on household expenses. The price of piped natural gas (PNG), which is used for cooking in homes, has been increased across Delhi-NCR and several other cities.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has implemented the new prices from April 1, 2026. In Delhi, PNG now costs ₹49.59 per standard cubic meter (SCM).

How Much Did PNG Price Increase in Delhi?

Previous price: ₹47.89 per SCM (since January 1, 2026)
New price: ₹49.59 per SCM
Increase: ₹1.70 per SCM

This increase will directly affect monthly household expenses, especially for families using PNG for daily cooking.

New PNG Prices in NCR and Other Cities

In NCR cities

Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad
₹47.76 to ₹49.46 per SCM

In other cities

Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Shamli
₹47.35 to ₹48.35 per SCM

Ajmer, Pali, Rajsamand
₹47.27 to ₹48.27 per SCM

Kanpur, Fatehpur, Hamirpur, Chitrakoot
₹47.95 to ₹48.95 per SCM

Most cities saw an increase between ₹1 to ₹1.70 per SCM.

Reason Behind Price Hike

The main reason is the ongoing crisis in West Asia, which has affected global energy prices.

Domestic LPG cylinder price increased by ₹60 on March 7
Commercial LPG cylinder price increased by ₹338 in three phases on March 1, March 7, and April 1

Impact on Consumers

Higher monthly kitchen expenses
Increased cost of cooking fuel
Possible shift to alternative fuels

After LPG, PNG gas has also become expensive, making daily life costlier for common people. The price hike by IGL will impact millions of households, especially in urban areas. If global conditions do not improve, further increases may happen.
