The award, instituted by the Retired ICAR Employees Association in collaboration with Nuziveedu Seeds Limited, recognises outstanding contributions of agricultural scientists towards strengthening India’s food security. This year’s honour holds special significance as it coincides with the birth centenary of M S Swaminathan.

The ceremony was graced by former Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu as the Chief Guest. Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, along with Mandava Prabhakar Rao and Vidyasagar Rao, were among the distinguished dignitaries present.
Dr. Srinivasa Rao was honoured for his pioneering work in climate-resilient agriculture and natural resource management. His leadership in scaling resource conservation technologies across millions of hectares and developing district-level contingency plans has significantly strengthened agricultural sustainability and resilience in India.
