Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha inspected the ongoing medical services trial run at TIMS Sanathnagar and reviewed the hospital’s preparedness ahead of its formal inauguration scheduled in June.

The Minister visited all A, B, and C Blocks of the hospital and inspected several departments, including OP registration, inpatient wards, emergency department, CT scan, MRI, laboratories, mechanised laundry, kitchen, and other facilities.
He directed Roads & Buildings (R&B) and Health Department officials to complete all pending works on a war footing and ensure uninterrupted water and power supply to the hospital round the clock.
Health Minister Orders Completion of Pending Works
During the inspection, Damodar Raja Narasimha instructed officials to complete all unfinished works before the inauguration of TIMS Sanathnagar.
He emphasized that uninterrupted basic services such as water and electricity must be ensured without any disruption.
The Minister also stressed that there should be no compromise on fire safety standards and ordered a complete reinspection of all floors in the hospital.
Minister Reviews Patient Facilities at TIMS Sanathnagar
The Health Minister reviewed arrangements at:
- Reception area
- Help desk
- OP counters
- Waiting hall
- OP consultation rooms
- Diagnostics section
- Inpatient wards
- Pharmacy
He instructed officials to increase the number of registration counters and pharmacy counters to improve patient convenience.
Advanced Medical Equipment Inspected
Damodar Raja Narasimha inspected advanced medical equipment at the hospital, including:
- CT scan machines
- MRI machines
- X-ray machines
- Ultrasound machines
The Minister directed Health Department officials to ensure that these advanced technology facilities are fully utilized for patient care by maintaining adequate doctors and support staff.
TIMS Sanathnagar to Become Major Healthcare Institution
Speaking to the media, the Minister stated that TIMS Sanathnagar will be inaugurated in June.
He said the hospital is currently undergoing a successful medical services trial run, although some finishing works are still underway.
According to the Minister, R&B and Health Department officials have been instructed to complete all pending works within the stipulated deadline.
TIMS Sanathnagar to Have 1,000 Beds and 300 Emergency Beds
Damodar Raja Narasimha stated that TIMS Sanathnagar is a 1,000-bed hospital with 300 emergency beds.
He said the hospital is being developed as a major healthcare institution capable of saving lives during emergencies.
The Minister further announced that the hospital will emerge as a Centre of Excellence for:
- Cardiac disease treatment
- Organ transplant surgeries
He also stated that an advanced research centre will be established within the hospital.
Focus on Quality Healthcare for the Poor
The Minister emphasized that the primary objective of the government is to provide quality healthcare services to poor people through TIMS Sanathnagar.
He instructed officials to ensure that the hospital is fully prepared with all required facilities before the inauguration.
