Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Management Association (HMA), an affiliate of the All-India Management Association (AIMA), has elected Sharath Chandra Maroju as its President for the 2026–27 term during its Annual General Meeting. He officially assumes office in July 2026.
Sharath Chandra Maroju is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Syndic Engineers, a Hyderabad-based company specializing in energy and sustainable environmental solutions. Since co-founding the firm in 2016, he has led projects across engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) consulting, with expertise in power, water and wastewater management, air pollution control, and chemical treatment solutions for industries including pharmaceuticals, cement, sugar, distilleries, ethanol, steel, FMCG, and biotechnology.

He currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Board of Technical Education, constituted by the Government of Telangana. His academic credentials include a master’s degree in Thermal Engineering from JNTU, a MicroMasters qualification from IIM Bangalore, Chartered Engineer certification from the Institution of Engineers (India), an ADBA from the London School of Business and Finance, and a law degree from Kakatiya University. He is also a Chartered Arbitrator (CIArb) under the Royal Charter, London, and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified by MSMSE, Government of India.
Outlining his vision after assuming the role, Maroju said he was honored to lead HMA at a time when management is being transformed by technology, sustainability, and a new generation of leaders.

He said his agenda for the coming year would focus on three key priorities: renewing the association’s foundations, reimagining engagement with members and the wider community, and strengthening HMA as a center of management excellence for Hyderabad and the region. He added that he looked forward to working closely with HMA members, partners, and the AIMA network to make the year a defining one for the association.
Before founding Syndic Engineers, Maroju held leadership positions with Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Thermax Limited, Mitsubishi in the United Kingdom, and Flexible Mobility in Singapore and Malaysia.
Apart from his engineering career, he is a published author with a strong interest in sustainability, literature, and Indian classical music. His books include Green Hydrogen as an ESG Imperative, Industrial Wastewater Remediation, Rubbish to Revenue, and Carbon Capture to Toner. He has also authored numerous articles on ESG, the circular economy, and sustainable engineering.
Maroju also serves as a Trustee of the VSMILE Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to women’s empowerment and the education of girl children.
