Applications Open for Transgender Scholarship Programme 2026–27, Eligible Students to Receive Up to Rs 40,000

Students studying in Classes IX to XII, as well as those pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses, are eligible to apply, provided they are enrolled in a recognised government or private educational institution.

Hyderabad: Transgender students across India can now apply for the Transgender Scholarship Programme 2026–27, under which eligible candidates will receive financial assistance of up to Rs 40,000 to support their education.

The scholarship programme is being offered by the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union to encourage higher education and provide financial support to transgender students.

Students studying in Classes IX to XII, as well as those pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses, are eligible to apply, provided they are enrolled in a recognised government or private educational institution.

According to the eligibility criteria, applicants must have secured at least 35 per cent marks in their Class X or Class XII examinations. In addition, the annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 10 lakh.

Selected candidates will receive a one-time scholarship of up to Rs 40,000, enabling them to continue their education without financial constraints.

The last date to submit applications is July 30, 2026. Eligible students have been encouraged to apply before the deadline.
