Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has directed the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) management to take an early and positive decision on the pending demands of nearly 2,200 Singareni officers, including pay revision and implementation of the Performance Related Payment (PRP) scheme on the lines of Coal India.

During a review meeting held at Singareni Bhavan on Monday, Bhatti Vikramarka instructed SCCL Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti and Director (Personnel & Finance) Gowtham Potru to give priority to the representations submitted by the Singareni Officers’ Association and expedite the decision-making process.

The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that the state government is committed to the development of Singareni and acknowledged the crucial contribution of its workers and officers in ensuring energy security and supporting Telangana’s industrial growth.

He directed the management to engage with the Officers’ Association, address their grievances, and ensure that a positive decision is taken within the next two to three months to avoid dissatisfaction among employees.

Bhatti Vikramarka also emphasised that Singareni must strengthen its competitiveness in coal production and marketing amid changing global economic conditions. He said officers have a key role in transforming SCCL into a diversified and globally competitive enterprise and urged the association to motivate officers to actively contribute to the company’s future growth.

The issue was raised after leaders of the Singareni Officers’ Association, led by President Tallapalli Lakshmipathi Goud and General Secretary Peddi Narasimhulu, met the Deputy Chief Minister to thank the state government for securing the Tadicherla-II coal block and sought early resolution of officers’ pending demands.

The association expressed gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for their efforts in securing new coal blocks and reiterated that Singareni officers would fully support the government’s initiatives for the company’s expansion and long-term growth.
