PM Modi Forgives Youth Over Abusive Slogans, Calls for Guidance Instead of Punishment

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday struck a conciliatory note over the recent controversy surrounding abusive slogans raised against him during the student protests over the alleged NEET paper leak, saying that the youth should be guided rather than punished.

Addressing the issue, the Prime Minister said he had forgiven the youngsters who used objectionable language against him, describing them as “misguided” rather than malicious.

“I forgive the youth who abused me. Some youngsters have lost their way. We cannot change them through punishment. What they need is guidance,” PM Modi said.

Referring to the incident at Jantar Mantar, where some protesters allegedly raised abusive slogans against him and his late mother, the Prime Minister said the entire nation had witnessed what happened.

“The whole world saw what happened at Jantar Mantar. Some angry children abused me and even my mother. I forgive them,” he remarked.

Using a heartfelt analogy, PM Modi urged society to respond with compassion instead of anger.

“Sometimes the tongue slips between our teeth and bleeds. But the teeth are ours, and the tongue is ours. In the same way, these children are our own,” he said.

The Prime Minister stressed that society has a responsibility to show young people the right path instead of subjecting them to harsh punishment or prolonged legal action.

His remarks come amid an ongoing controversy over abusive slogans raised during student demonstrations demanding action over the NEET paper leak issue. Earlier, a girl booked over objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister also released a public apology video, expressing regret and seeking forgiveness.

PM Modi’s message has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many viewing it as a call for reconciliation, guidance, and constructive engagement with the youth rather than punitive action.
