Hyderabad: MLAs and MLCs of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Monday met VC Sajjanar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, and submitted a formal complaint against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over an alleged hate-related social media post.

The complaint was submitted on the letterhead of AIMIM President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

Complaint Over Alleged Hate Content on Social Media

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Ahmed Balala, AIMIM MLA, said that a few days ago the Assam Chief Minister had posted a video on social media platform X.

According to him:

  • The video allegedly showed a senior Muslim man and a young Muslim being shot
  • Though the post was later deleted, screenshots and videos are still circulating online
  • The content has caused serious concern and fear

He also said that all AIMIM MLAs and MLCs were present during the meeting with the Police Commissioner.

Supreme Court Guidelines Cited

Ahmed Balala stated that Supreme Court judgments clearly say that no one is allowed to spread religious hatred.

  • Showing violent acts linked to religion is against the Constitution
  • Such content promotes communal hatred
  • It is a serious legal offence, he said

The AIMIM delegation stressed that such posts damage social harmony and peace.

Police Assure Action as Per Law

The AIMIM leaders said that Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar took the complaint seriously and assured them that:

  • The matter will be examined
  • Legal action will be taken as per law
  • A case will be registered under appropriate sections if required

AIMIM Demands Strict Action

The AIMIM leadership demanded strict action against those spreading hate content on social media, saying that strong steps are needed to protect communal harmony and public peace.
