Hyderabad: Despite the inauguration of the Amberpet flyover eight months ago, the adjoining service road continues to remain in a state of neglect, causing severe inconvenience to commuters. The incomplete stretch, dotted with potholes and loose gravel, has become a major source of dust pollution and daily hardship for motorists and pedestrians alike.
Residents and local traders have expressed frustration over the poor condition of the road, stating that their repeated appeals to authorities have gone unheard. The project, which began nearly six years ago, still awaits full completion — with the service road appearing to have been left out of the development plan altogether.

Although Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the flyover with much fanfare earlier this year, the pending service road work has become a glaring example of administrative negligence. The damaged surface and lack of proper drainage have made driving risky, especially during the monsoon season.
Local commuters said that despite the flyover easing traffic congestion to some extent, the unfinished service road has defeated its purpose. “We were expecting smooth connectivity, but this has only made things worse,” said a two-wheeler rider struggling through the uneven stretch.
Citizens are now demanding that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and concerned departments take immediate steps to complete the remaining work, ensuring safe passage and relief for thousands of daily road users.
