The Mancherial case echoes the recent food poisoning incident at a Gurukula residential school in Asifabad, adding to fears that inadequate safety measures may be putting students’ health at risk across Telangana’s educational institutions. Despite the recurring nature of these incidents, food safety protocols in school meals appear insufficient.
In response, local health and education authorities have launched an investigation to identify the source of contamination and prevent future cases. Officials are also pushing for stricter regulations on food storage and preparation procedures in residential schools.
Growing concern among parents and community leaders has led to calls for the Telangana government to implement stronger oversight and raise food safety standards in schools, especially in residential and tribal ashram schools where students depend on provided meals.
