Article 370 Film Banned in Arab Countries

Bollywood actress Yami Gautam's latest film 'Article 370' is facing restrictions in Arab countries, as reported by the official news agency ANI.

Dubai: Bollywood actress Yami Gautam’s latest film ‘Article 370’ is facing restrictions in Arab countries, as reported by the official news agency ANI. The imposition of a ban on the film in Gulf countries has posed a hurdle in its release.

Despite showcasing commendable performance in domestic and international markets and garnering equal acceptance from fans and critics alike, this setback will impact the film’s business in the international market.

However, there has been no official clarification from the certification board regarding this action. Particularly, those individuals invested in the tourism industry and the popularity of Indian cinema in the region are concerned about the consequences of this ban in Gulf countries.

This ban echoes the restriction faced by the film ‘Fighter,’ starring Ritik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, which was also banned in all Gulf countries except the United Arab Emirates.

In ‘Article 370,’ Yami Gautam portrays the role of an intelligence officer Zoni Haksar. The film is set against the backdrop of the Kashmir Valley and revolves around the abrogation of Article 370 and the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently referenced this film during a speech in Jammu. Expressing anticipation for its release, he highlighted the importance of providing accurate information on the subject. In response, Yami Gautam expressed gratitude on Instagram and expressed hopes for the successful presentation of this remarkable story. Apart from Yami Gautam, the film also stars Pramani, Arun Goyal, and Karn Karmakar, under the direction of Aditya Sohas Jambhale.
