Hyderabad Man Alleges Traffic Police Secretly Clicked Vehicle Photos, Seeks Action Over Unfair Challans

A Hyderabad resident from Asif Nagar alleges unfair traffic challans near Jayabhushan Hospital, questioning secret enforcement by traffic police and seeking government intervention.

A resident of Asif Nagar has alleged that he was unfairly fined by traffic police while taking his children to Jayabhushan Hospital in Hyderabad. The incident, which reportedly occurred near Azizia Masjid lane, has raised concerns over the way traffic challans are being issued in hospital areas.

What Exactly Happened?

The complainant, who lives near Priya Theatre in Asif Nagar, said the incident took place when he was riding with his children towards the hospital. According to him, traffic police secretly clicked photos of his vehicle and later issued multiple challans without stopping or guiding him at the spot.

He claimed that the challans were issued near the hospital approach road, where vehicle movement is often confusing for first-time visitors.

Details of the Traffic Challans

As per the complainant, the total challan amount came to ₹1,900, which included:

  • ₹1,200 for alleged wrong-side driving
  • ₹500 for rash or negligent driving
  • ₹200 for not wearing a helmet

The resident questioned the charges, stating that his vehicle speed was below 25 kmph, making the allegation of rash driving unjustified.

Hospital Proof and CCTV Evidence

The complainant said he has hospital slips related to his children to prove that he was genuinely heading to Jayabhushan Hospital at the time. He also pointed out that the area is covered by CCTV cameras, which can verify his version of events.

He alleged that instead of managing traffic and preventing violations near a sensitive hospital zone, police personnel were waiting discreetly to issue challans later.

“Stop Vehicles, Don’t Secretly Fine Them”

Expressing concern, the resident said that if public safety is the real objective, traffic police should:

  • Stop vehicles on the spot
  • Warn or guide motorists near hospitals
  • Prevent violations instead of issuing post-facto challans

He argued that such hidden enforcement only adds to public distress, especially for parents and patients.

Appeal to the Chief Minister

The complainant has appealed to CM Revanth Reddy to intervene and curb the practice of secret and arbitrary traffic challans, particularly near hospitals and residential localities.

Growing Public Concern

This incident has sparked discussion among residents about traffic enforcement methods in Hyderabad, especially in areas close to hospitals where motorists often act under pressure or emergency situations.
