Ayushman Bharat Scheme to Improve Delhi’s Healthcare Infrastructure
The Ayushman Bharat Yojana aims to enhance the healthcare services in Delhi, focusing on improving primary healthcare, critical care, and diagnostic facilities. This initiative will also be integrated with the National Digital Health Mission, ensuring digital maintenance of patient records for better monitoring and management. The scheme will initially focus on Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries and priority households and will gradually expand its scope.

Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh emphasized that the scheme is designed to improve healthcare services, especially for those who need it the most. “We will first issue the Ayushman cards to AAY beneficiaries and priority families, followed by the expansion to other groups,” he said.
Increased Health Insurance Coverage and Expanded Scope
The Delhi government has decided to top up the existing health insurance coverage by providing an additional Rs 10 lakh, in addition to the Rs 5 lakh coverage provided by the Government of India. This move is expected to greatly benefit the city’s healthcare infrastructure and residents.

The Delhi government has also increased the healthcare budget by 48% for the financial year 2025-26, further supporting the expansion and improvement of health services in the city.
Hospitals Covered Under Ayushman Bharat Scheme
Currently, over 70 hospitals in Delhi accept the Ayushman card, and the number is expected to rise significantly after the full implementation of the scheme. Treatment can be availed at these hospitals using the Ayushman Bharat card.
How to Register for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana Online
Interested beneficiaries can register for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana online by following these steps:
- Visit the official websites: https://pmjay.gov.in/ or https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/.
- Click on “Am I Eligible.”
- Enter your mobile number and captcha code.
- Log in with the OTP sent to your mobile.
- Check eligibility by entering your Aadhaar number, ration card number, or family ID.
- If eligible, select “Beneficiary Login” or “Register.”
- Enter the mobile number linked to Aadhaar and verify through OTP.
- Authenticate with Aadhaar number and OTP.
- Select the family member whose Ayushman card needs to be created.
- Fill in the required details (name, address, district, etc.) and upload a passport-sized photograph.
- Submit the form.
Offline Registration Process
For those who prefer offline registration, visit your nearest Common Service Center (CSC), Public Service Center, or empanelled hospital. Contact the Ayushman friend or employee at the center to complete the registration process.
