Backdoor Appointments in Backlog Posts Raise Alarm in Telangana, Says K Kavitha

K Kavitha warns of backdoor appointments in Telangana backlog posts, says unemployment is rising and youth are losing hope. Demands merit-based recruitments.

Hyderabad: Concerns are growing in Telangana over reports of backdoor appointments in backlog government posts, triggering anger and disappointment among unemployed youth. Telangana Jagruti President K Kavitha has warned that such practices could deepen the unemployment crisis and destroy faith in the recruitment system.

She said young people across the state are anxiously waiting for transparent job notifications, but instead are hearing disturbing reports of jobs being filled without merit.

Rising Unemployment, Growing Youth Frustration

K Kavitha said unemployment in Telangana is increasing, leaving thousands of educated youth frustrated and hopeless. Many young men and women from villages have moved to Hyderabad, spending large amounts of money on coaching and training with the hope of securing government jobs.

She reminded that youth played a key role in the Telangana statehood movement with the belief that employment opportunities would improve, but only limited jobs were provided even after state formation.

Congress Following BRS Path, Alleges Kavitha

Kavitha alleged that the Congress government is now following the same path as the previous BRS government when it comes to recruitments.

She pointed out that:

  • Job exams were not conducted in a planned manner
  • Multiple exams were held on the same day, causing hardship to students
  • Youth believed change in government would bring justice

She said young voters supported Congress in the last Assembly elections hoping for a job calendar, but even today it is unclear which jobs will be released and when.

Allegations of Job Sales and Irregular Appointments

Kavitha recalled that during the BRS rule, there were allegations of appointments without exams for some high-paying posts. She cited reports where:

  • Jobs with salaries of up to Rs 1.5 lakh were allegedly given without exams
  • District-level posts in Nirmal were reportedly sold for Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakh

Though some recruitments were stopped after protests, she said contract employees have still not received justice, as former BRS leaders who joined Congress are now creating obstacles.

Fear of Repeat in Current Backlog Recruitments

Kavitha expressed concern that backlog posts meant for SC, ST and BC categories in departments like:

  • Transco
  • Genco
  • Irrigation
  • Revenue
  • Municipal Administration

are again at risk of being misused. These include posts such as Junior Assistants and Office Subordinates.

Youth from districts like Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Adilabad and Nirmal have reportedly approached her, fearing that jobs may once again be sold through recommendations by political leaders and corrupt officials.

Demand for Merit-Based Appointments

Calling for immediate action, Kavitha urged the government to:

  • Issue strict warnings to officials
  • Ensure collectors appoint candidates only on merit
  • Launch an inquiry into alleged backdoor recruitments

She also appealed to youth not to pay money for jobs, assuring that strict action would be taken against both those who give and take bribes if her party comes to power.

Telangana Jagruti Stands With Youth

Kavitha said merit-based recruitment is non-negotiable and promised that Telangana Jagruti will stand firmly with honest youth preparing sincerely for government jobs.

She demanded that the government act immediately and investigate the allegations to restore trust among the unemployed.
