The case came to light after a complaint was filed by a Bandlaguda resident who:

  • Took a house on mortgage
  • Paid ₹3,00,000 to the accused
  • Was misled by individuals posing as fake property owners

Later, it was discovered that the accused had no ownership rights over the property.

Modus Operandi of the Property Fraud Gang

Police investigation revealed a well-planned fraud:

  • Accused were working as real estate brokers
  • They would rent houses and pretend to be owners
  • Then they would mortgage the same properties to victims
  • Collected large sums of money through fraudulent agreements

This Hyderabad property fraud scam targeted multiple victims.

Accused Arrested, Others on the Run

Bandlaguda Police arrested the main accused:

  • Shaik Omer Amoodi (24), real estate broker

Other accused involved in the scam are currently absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.

  • The accused was arrested on March 25, 2026
  • He confessed involvement along with other accused
  • Police are working to identify more victims
