In a significant development, Telangana revenue increased through AI technology and tax monitoring, said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka during a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held at the Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday.

Speaking at the revenue generation and resource mobilisation meeting, Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted that:

  • Continuous tax monitoring across departments strengthened collections

He noted that departments like mining and transport have benefited significantly from AI-based systems.

Strict Action Against Illegal Activities

The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to intensify action against:

  • Illegal sand mining
  • Unauthorized crusher operations
  • Illegal transportation
  • Overloading of vehicles

He stressed that strict enforcement is essential to prevent revenue leakage.

GST Revenue Sees 15% Increase

Highlighting key achievements, Bhatti Vikramarka said:

  • GST revenue increased by 15% in the last three months
  • Growth recorded in the Commercial Taxes Department
  • The Registration Department also reported revenue gains

This increase is attributed to continuous monitoring and improved tax systems.

Weekly Meetings to Strengthen Revenue

The Cabinet Sub-Committee decided to:

  • Hold regular meetings every Friday
  • Review progress in revenue generation
  • Ensure accountability through action taken reports

Officials have been directed to present updates in each meeting.

Focus on $3 Trillion Economy Target

Bhatti Vikramarka instructed all departments to:

  • Prepare revenue mobilisation plans
  • Align strategies with the goal of achieving a $3 trillion economy by 2047

Suggestions from Ministers

Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy suggested:

  • Promoting HMDA land sales globally
  • Increasing awareness to boost revenue opportunities

Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and other officials also participated in the discussions.

  • Revenue and expenditure analysis
  • Growth strategies in Excise, Revenue, and Industries Departments

Bhatti Vikramarka directed that committee reports on land value revisions should first be submitted to the Sub-Committee before Cabinet approval.
