Bridge Construction Works on Krishna River to Begin Soon

State Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy said that ₹600 crore have been sanctioned for the Somasila bridge and added that a survey is underway now.

Hyderabad: The bridge construction works on Krishna river in Somasila village of Kollapur Assembly constituency would be commenced soon . This was revealed by State Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy while replying to questions raised by the MLAs on the construction of the news bridges of the state Assembly.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that they had sanctioned 629 bridges in the state and that they had completed 372 bridges so far. He said that the remaining 257 bridges were at different stages of completion and added that they would be completed by June 2022. Reddy said that the state government was spending ₹3050 crores for the construction of the bridges. He said that scores of bridges had come up in the state under the leadership of CM KCR. Commenting on the Somasila bridge he said that they had submitted a couple of reports to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on the issue and added that the Minister had notified  a 170 km long NH -167 from Kalwakurthy to Nandyal of Andhra Pradesh via Nagarkurnool, Kollapur and the Somasila bridge .

He said that they had sanctioned ₹600 crore for the Somasila bridge and added that a survey was underway now. He said that the survey would be completed in a month’s time. Reddy said that they would prepare a DPR after the survey and take up the land acquisition process before the commencement of the bridge construction works. He said that they would complete the construction works in nine months time. (NSS)
