Tension at Osmania University as BRSV Burns CM Revanth Reddy’s Effigy Over SIT Notice to KCR

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Osmania University on Thursday after BRSV student leaders staged a protest against the SIT notices issued to former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the phone tapping case. The protest took place near the Arts College, where students burnt an effigy of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, triggering a swift police response.

BRSV Protest at OU Arts College

Members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi Vibhagam (BRSV) strongly condemned the issuance of notices to K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) in the phone tapping case. Raising slogans, the students accused the Congress government of targeting the former CM for political reasons.

As part of the protest, BRSV leaders set fire to the effigy of CM Revanth Reddy, leading to heightened tension on the university campus.

Police Intervene, Students Detained

Police personnel present at the spot immediately intervened to stop the protest. BRSV leaders were detained and shifted to the police station to prevent any further disturbance on the campus.

Officials said the situation was brought under control quickly and no untoward incident was reported.

Students Allege Political Drama

Addressing the media, student leaders alleged that:

• The phone tapping case notices to KCR are part of a political drama
• The Congress government has failed in governance
• Illegal cases and notices are being used to divert public attention from key issues

They accused the state government of misusing investigative agencies to settle political scores.

After the police action, the situation at Osmania University gradually returned to normal. Security was tightened around sensitive locations to avoid further protests.
