Hyderabad: In preparation for the 72nd Miss World 2025 Heritage Walk at Charminar, city authorities have begun relocating stray dogs from the surrounding areas to ensure a clean and distraction-free environment for the visiting beauty queens.

Dogs Seized to Maintain Visual Appeal

In a move that sparked curiosity and some criticism, veterinary officials were seen seizing stray dogs from the lanes around Charminar. According to sources, the action was taken to avoid the presence of street dogs during the high-profile visit of Miss World contestants, ensuring no obstruction or unpleasant visuals during the event.

Over 50 Stray Dogs Shifted to Rehabilitation Centre

Officials confirmed that more than 50 stray dogs were caught and moved to a nearby animal rehabilitation centre. The process was carried out by local veterinary teams, who ensured the animals were handled safely and without harm.

Dogs to Be Released Back After Three Days

Veterinary officers clarified that the dogs are only being temporarily relocated and will be released back into the same areas after three days, once the event concludes. The relocation, they said, is in line with standard procedures for managing street animals during large public gatherings.

Ensuring Smooth Experience for International Delegates

The measure is part of a broader effort to present Hyderabad’s heritage sites in the best light to international delegates. Officials said they are working to ensure the visit of Miss World contestants at Charminar proceeds without any logistical or aesthetic issues.
